Ads featuring men and women stereotypes

    ANALYSIS
    BRAND: Vernel, a softening soap to be added to the laundry
    LOGO: none
    SLOGAN: Abbandonati alla dolcezza di un fiore Indulge in the sweetness of a flower
    COPY: Mandorle e fiori di miele. L’avvolgente fragranza che ti dona nuovo relax. Vernel. Indossa un fiore. Almonds and honey flowers. The enveloping fragrance which gives you a new relax. Vernel. Wear a flower.
    SCENE: In the page there is a woman wearing a flower shaped blouse. In the centre there is the slogan and on the bottom right there is a bottle of Vernel and the copy..

    EVALUATION
    ARTISTIC: the page is very beautiful. It is a visual metaphor of the idea expressed in the copy .The woman is actually wearing a flower and looks very happy and relaxed
    PSYCHOLOGICAL. Women are flowers, so using the advertised product will add the sweetness of flowers to the natural sweetness of women
    TARGET. Women
    MESSAGE: Women are sweet and beautiful like flowers.
    CONSISTENCY. Slogan copy and picture are very consistent, all playing on the same ideas.

    BRAND: Simona Barberi twin-set

    SLOGAN: None
    COPY: None
    SHOW: The picture of a young sexy girl wearing a twin-set by Simona Barberi

    EVALUATION
    ARTISTIC: Not very original, the usual ad for clothes
    PSYCHOLOGICAL: The message conveyed is: beautiful is good
    TARGET: Women and girls
    MESSAGE: The ad is very simple, it only relies on the picture
    CONSISTENCY. The message is quite consistent: if you buy this twin-set you’ll be as beautiful as the model in the ad.

  • PICA
    ANALYSIS
    BRAND: Pica a company that makes floor tiles
    SLOGAN: There are two slogans , one is just under the Brand name: Pica dura piu' di una vita. Pica lasts more than a lifetime. The second one is in the middle of the ad: Nato dalla tradizione, realizzzato con arte, cotto Pica, bella forza. Born from tradition, realised artistically, baked by Pica. Too easy.
    COPY: There's a detailed description of PICA floor tiles.
    SETTING: In the ad there is a picture of a beatuiful woman lying on a tile floor and touching the tiles next to her. She is scantly dressed with a leather breast band and loin cloth. There are rose petals all around the girl and also flying outside the window. There's also a text under the picture. the name of the firm is on top while the slogan in in the middle.

    EVALUATION
    ARTISTIC: The ad is very coloured, there is a beautiful woman. The woman as beautiful as the landscape behind her.
    PSYCHOLOGICAL: The ad invites men to buy the tiles because the are like the woman
    TARGET: People who need to purchase floor tiles, the ad implies that this is a men's job
    MESSAGE: The message is very effective
    CONSISTENCY: The copy is consistent with the picture, but is it hard to link the slogan to the rest.

  • PACIOTTI, SHOES AND BAGS

    ANALYSIS
    BRAND: Paciotti, women’s shoes and bags
    LOGO: Sword
    SETTING: A man holding a young woman’s leg and a bag. by Cesare Paciotti. The man is fully dressed while the woman is wearing a small bathing suit the same colour of her skin. The man looks like he’s stealing the bag and is holding the woman’s leg in a very possessive way.

    EVALUATION
    ARTISTIC: Creative advertising
    PSYCHOLOGICAL: to be attractive women need to wear the right accessories. Women are above all sex symbols.
    TARGET: Women
    MESSAGE: a beautiful girl can convince women to buy bags and shoes by Paciotti, If they do so they will be as beautiful as the girl in the picture and will attract men at the same time
    CONSISTENCY. The ad is not very effective
